Off the Path: Cuidado! Parte 2

Careful! Part 2

After an interesting day visiting the west end of Melaque,

bobbing happily in the calm ocean,

running out to the Central Plaza to use a cafés internet, and doing my usual evening sitting 'promenade' with friends, I walked home.

Although dark, I was wearing my sunglasses as I had forgotten to exchange them for glasses. I had gone out while still bright sunlight to get an update on my sister's health. I told myself to watch the sidewalk as it has unexpected steps, and hills, but for one moment I got distracted and down I went. I saw it happening but could not stop the fall. Flat on the sidewalk, it was. Luckily (?) I landed on all four limbs and by hip so I must have spread my weight pretty evenly. :-).

I collected my wits, sat up on the sidewalk, checked all limbs and toes for blood, and in a couple minutes got up and slowly walked home. Once inside I showered, washed out shorts and sat down to check my limbs again. I had two slightly scratched knees, and a somewhat sore arm, but no more.

This morning, I my wrist felt a little twinge but that was all. I got off lightly. Cuidado! Sidewalks here are unpredictable.

So, that is three incidents. I should be 'safe' now. :-)
